Spiritual Warfare Tactics

I write this post about one of the most important things I’ve learnt from healing teachings, specifically those of Curry Blake.

When engaging in spiritual warfare, attacking the works of Satan, one has to adopt a military approach. When one gets serious in God’s army it helps to study the principles of natural warfare.

I present you with the warrior ethos:

1. Always put the mission first. Prioritize your life decisions around the work of the Army. Gear how you spend your time, money, time and resources toward the Kingdom. Make disciples of all the world. Reach the world at any cost. This is your life mission.

2. Never quit. Be cautious to never get distraceted from the Great Commission.

With just these two points we could change the world.

3. Never accept defeat. If you fail, you learn from it and attack again.

4. Never leave a fallen comrade. If a brother falls, don’t kick him out because he is an embarrassment. Bring such a person back and restore him.

Next, we look at the Prime Directives.

1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength.

2. Love your neighbour as yourself.

3. Do to others as you would have done to you.

These directives encompass the entirety of Christianity. If we could manage to live these simple principles we will be the effective Christians the Bible teach us to be.

God at War – The Bible & Spiritual Conflict

This blog post is still in progress.

Here are some quotes from Gregory A. Boyd’s book entitled God At War

  • It is possible that our tendency to assume that the worldview we hold is ultimately the true worldview – is preventing us from seeing significant features of reality
  • If all evil is believed to serve a higher divine purpose, then clearly one’s sense of urgency in fighting it is compromised, while one’s ability to render it intelligible is diminished
  • The New Testament exhibits a church that is not intellectually baffled by evil but is spiritually empowered to vanquishing it, the Western tradition has more frequently exhibited a church that is perpetually baffled by evil but significantly ineffective and largely apathetic toward combating it.
  • The problem of evil that the New Testament authors grappled with was simply the problem of overcoming it. The problem of evil we Westerners usually grapple with is the problem of intellectually understanding what we unfortunately rarely seek to overcome
  • Abstractions distract us from that immediate reality of evil and reduce evil to a statistic
  • Only when the abstractions are put aside can we see the Devil gloating over suffering
  • Does God’s omnipotence necessarily entail that God is all-controlling, as the classical-philosophical tradition after Augustine has inclined us to assume?
  • Does affirming that God is omnipotent commit one to the view that a good divine purpose lies behind all particular events, no matter how evil?
  • Whenever we ask “Why do bad things happen to good people?” we are reflecting the widespread (and wrong) assumption that bad things are supposed to happen to bad people. That must be how God “get’s even” and sinners learn their lesson.
  • People suffer, we are to wrongly believe, because they deserve it!. This is not true
  • Like God, we are given a dominion of authority – the earth – not because God needs help, as in pagan mythology, but simply because having this sort of dominion is what being godlike means.
  • When we fight, we do not do so on our own power, but God himself reenacts his primal victory over these destructive forces through us.
  • When we “take up arms” against corporate greed, and when we follow the call of the Lord in feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, befriending the guilty, embracing the socially repulsive, and siding with victims, we are participating in God’s cosmic struggle against cosmic chaotic forces of destruction.
  • We resist the anticreation forces that oppose God whenever we do anything that genuinely restores creation (incl. ourselves) to the place where God originally planned it to be.

RE: Insufficient Instruction as Failure to Receive Healing

f.f. Boswort, Christ The Healer PDF front cover

FF Bosworth – Christ the Healer

This post is in response to the well-known publication on Christian healing by F.F Bosworth (Fred Francis Bosworth), entitled Christ the Healer. As reference, you can download the original Christ the Healer PDF, or alternatively try F.F. Bosworth: Christ the Healer.pdf. Also see Amazon: F.F Bosworth – Christ the Healer.

F.F. Bosworth was an evangelist in the early 1900’s, with a great healing ministry attributed to him. His book Christ the Healer (more than half a million copies sold)  contains excellent material on the subject of healing, but fails at chapter 13 – Why Some Fail to Receive Healing from Christ. This quote from Curry Blake is very true: “The only hindrances to healing, is believing there are hindrances to healing.”

I’d like to take F.F. Bosworth’s supposed hindrances or burdens to healing and disprove them with the Bible, to make known God’s goodness, His power and the simplicity of the Gospel.

Bosworth starts chapter 13 – Why Some Fail To Receive Healing From Christ, with the following paragraph.

It is so clearly revealed throughout the Scriptures that the Heavenly Father wills our healing.

Why do some who seek healing, fail to receive it? This question is in the minds of many honest inquirers. There are several answers to this question, which we will mention briefly. By these answers many have been helped who had previously failed to receive healing.Consequently, they have been gloriously healed.

F.F Bosworth – Christ the Healer reprint

Then, the first supposed burden, or reason for failure regarding healing, Bosworth calls “Insufficient Instruction.”

The first reason for not receiving healing is ignorance concerning the healing power of the Gospel. Paul tell us that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”(Romans 10:17) Many have sought healing from Christ before they heard or knew enough of the Word of God. They have not had a steadfast faith.

He states that anyone looking to receive healing must first meditate on God’s Word to learn His will.

I want you to look at the following Bible Scripture:

Mark 16:15-18
And he said unto them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe;  In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

1 Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

I’d like to point out here the commonly known fact that anyone is free to receive forgiveness and redemption through believing and confessing Jesus Christ is Lord. This is absolutely free, regardless of your knowledge of the Bible. Most scholars accept this. Why then do we have to “work” for our healing? No, healing is a gift – and gifts are free. Healing isn’t a reward, it is a gift. You don’t work for it or earn it.

Mark 16 makes no differentiation between those who can believe, and those who can heal. Neither does 1 Peter 2 separate redemption and healing. If you can receive the one, you can receive the other.

Jesus Christ even said we will will be able to do the same miracles He did, and more! Look at the following verses in John 14:

 John 14:12-14
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Now, continuing to quote F.F. Bosworth on the supposed hindrance to receiving your healing:

We have seen that God’s way of producing faith for healing is the same as that of producing faith for salvation. This is the way for any other blessing. The needy one should first learn, from the Scriptures, what God’s will is in the matter. The hand of faith cannot reach out and take from God what the eye of faith does not first see to be the will of God.

While I have to agree that one should make up your mind about God’s will on healing (read the Bible – God wants everyone to be healed all the time!), I must add that one can receive healing through someone else’s faith. In fact, a Christian can pray for anybody, without their permission, for healing because the Christian is exercising his dominion over demons and principalities, not the sick person. To quote Curry Blake: “You are God’s son, man’s servant, and the devil’s master”.

Jesus never said to anyone who was sick to first meditate on the scriptures and get to know God’s will. No, he instantly healed people on His own faith. Similarly, should someone be ill, fellow Christians should be able to heal that person if his faith is lacking. To prove this, look at James 5.

James 5:13-15
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

You see, it would be unfair to expect of a person in need of healing to first meditate on the Word of God. What if his lack of healing costs him his faith, and he passes away of his sickness? No, God tells us clearly that if any one is sick and he can’t receive healing on his own, other Christians should be able to perform the healing.

The point that I’d like to get across with this post is this: If one needs healing and you have trouble manifesting it yourself, let someone else heal you. “Lack of instruction” is not a hindrance to healing. Remember, Jesus healed some people on his faith, not theirs.

Christ is our HealerIn the same breath I’d like to remind you that Jesus said we will do the same works as He did, and even greater. So we must identify with Him (as having power over sickness), and not as the sick, un-renewed and un-born-again sick people in the Bible.

Again, to quote Curry Blake:

  • “When a son of God speaks, Heaven hears and agree. Hell hears and obey.”
  • “There is no reason why any person should not be healed.”
  • “The Name of Jesus and what it stands for and represents is ENOUGH to get ANY job done and ANY need met.”
  • “Jesus only gave 2 reasons for failure, and every failure can be traced back to one of these: Unbelief or Traditions of Man.”
  • “The Bible is a receipt of what was PAID FOR by Jesus.”
  • “Most people talk to God about their problems, when in reality, what you ought to do is talk to your problem about God.”
  • “There is no hinderance to God except YOU!”

Q: If healing was already paid for 2000 years ago, why am I still sick?
A: Remember, healing is warfare! Sickness enters your body ILLEGALLY. Its up to you to take authority of it. Compare it to a country’s law: it is illegal to steal, yet thieves still do. It is up to the police to enforce the law. Now enforce the healing Jesus Christ paid for! The reason why we’ll do greater works than Jesus is because we’re facing an enemy that’s already been defeated.

Q: Can it be that God doesn’t want me healed?
A: God can’t say ‘No’ to a promise He’s already said ‘Yes’ to. He said we will have dominion over every evil thing and the believers will lay hands on the sick and they will be healed. God said it. I believe it. That settles it! No need to question God on his will/goodness. No army ever won a war by showing how much it could suffer. God does NOT use the devil to spank you.

The only hindrances to healing, is believing there are hindrances to healing!

John Piper and ‘Wasting Your Cancer’.

I have come across an article and book authored by Pastor John Piper, entitled “Don’t Waste Your Cancer” (link to article). Even though I haven’t read the book, the article is quite shocking.

It contains some terrifying teachings about healing and sickness which I believe are damaging to God’s Kingdom.

“I believe in God’s power to heal—by miracle and by medicine. I believe it is right and good to pray for both kinds of healing. Cancer is not wasted when it is healed by God. He gets the glory and that is why cancer exists. So not to pray for healing may waste your cancer. But healing is not God’s plan for everyone. And there are many other ways to waste your cancer. I am praying for myself and for you that we will not waste this pain.”

According to the article you will ‘waste your cancer’ if:

  • You do not believe it is designed for you by God
  • You believe it is a curse and not a gift
  • You refuse to think about death
  • You think that “beating” cancer means staying alive rather than cherishing Christ
  • You treat sin as casually as before

Satan’s and God’s designs in your cancer are not the same. Satan designs to destroy your love for Christ. God designs to deepen your love for Christ. Cancer does not win if you die. It wins if you fail to cherish Christ. God’s design is to wean you off the breast of the world and feast you on the sufficiency of Christ. It is meant to help you say and feel, “I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” And to know that therefore, “To live is Christ, and to die is gain”

My intention is that instead of bashing the Pastor who wrote this, we combat the false teaching by speaking Biblical truth and life. And we pray and break Satan’s power over the book and article and make it of non affect, to rather allow people to experience God’s goodness. That no person will be influenced by that wrong teaching. And let the author come to realize that sickness and death is straight from the pit of hell!

The truth:

1 John 1:5: This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

John 10:10: The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: But I [Jesus] came that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Anything that steals, kills, or destroys your life is the work of Satan. Jesus came that we may have life in abundance. Cancer is a sickness straight from hell designed to kill people. Living with cancer is NOT God’s will.

Acts 10:34 says that God is no respecter of persons. Yet, people say that sickness is judgement from God. I’d like to ask those people what makes them think that other people are judged for their sins, but not them? So the people who have cancer ‘sinned more’ that those who don’t have?

You will waste your cancer if you treat sin as casually as before.

If I interpret this correctly, Pastor Piper feels that cancer may be the result of sin. This is in no way a Biblical teaching.

Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

If it is true that God condemns no one who is in Christ, how can it possibly be that sickness is inflicted by God? Sickness and death is the work of devils.

You will waste your cancer if you think that “beating” cancer means staying alive rather than cherishing Christ

People should take up the authority God gave us over death and sickness. God’s will is that we are healed and live healthily in a relationship with Him. If we were meant to live in Heaven, God would have created us there.

And that is my 2Cents

Curry Blake’s Teachings Available to Download (MP3, PDF, video)

Firstly, I would like to state that I am in no way affiliated with JGLM (John G. Lake Ministries, or Jesus Gives Life Ministries!).

I have posted this page to help other people easily find life-changing JGLM resources to download and share. This is a work-in-progress and any help and suggestions will be appreciated.

The teachings I have heard by Curry R. Blake have changed my life. I believe many others should listen to how simple Curry presents the gospel. He is well-known for his success with, and teachings on, healing. His healing course is called the Divine Healing Technicians (DHT) and he takes a purely Biblical approach to healing. The aim of the DHT is to teach anyone to understand and practice healing according to the Bible.

Other popular teachings available to download include the New Man and Spiritual Warfare.

I have found some links that may be useful to those who would like to learn more of Curry Blake’s Biblical teachings. Materials are available to download in MP3, video and PDF manuals. You can download them for personal use and to share with other people.

If you know where more Curry Blake and JGLM materials can LEGALLY be downloaded, please let me know so I can put it up here.

The Atheist Religion

I’ve noticed a lot of discussions between Atheists and Christians. There seems to be a lot of flaming from both sides.

Usually the Atheist professes to be more intelligent and free-thinking than any Christian. They talk as if what they’re saying is fact, and that the Bible is a fairytale.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools… who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creation more than the Creator. (Romans 1)

I feel that Atheists have to be really ignorant to believe the entire universe could come to exist by pure random chance. Atheists really don’t put any brain-time into their creation theology. And that should set off some alarms already.

Some Christians misrepresent God and might have actually caused Atheists to dislike God. The thing that most people don’t realize is that a meeting with God is very liberating. People expect judgment and condemnation, but in Christ there is no (yes, zero!) condemnation. (Romans 8:1).

I believe most ‘Atheists’, when faced with their death beds, will cry out to God. Atheists do believe that some higher power exists, but they refuse to acknowledge Him. They are reluctant to get to know Him because it’s more convenient that way.

I’m afraid that no person is with excuse, and Romans 1 is clear on this: For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made (creatures/us), even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations (theology, theories and ideologies), and their foolish heart was darkened.

To be honest, a lot of what the world see about Christianity is actually wrong, with churches misrepresenting God many times.

I’d like to suggest every Atheist, because they like to think of themselves as open-minded, buy themselves a Bible and spend time in the New Testament. You may just meet God, too….

You will like what you find.

And that’s my 2 cents…

About Satan

I’ve seen people ask some questions about doctrinal issues surrounding Satan.

The Word of God is pretty clear and we can use it to answer these questions.

Satan didn’t create hell – he can’t change it. Its His destiny and there is nothing he can do about it, other than tricking the children of God into entering hell too. After all, the devil is called the master deceiver, the father of all lies (Rev. 12:9, John 8:44).

God created hell for Satan and his angels. God doesn’t want a single person in hell.  John 3:16 reads : For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord isn’t slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake. He doesn’t want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and change the way they think and act.

People ask why doesn’t Satan do more evil? Where do you think sickness originates from? And poverty? And lust? Violence and murder? Have you seen the spiritual powers at work at Satanic meetings?

Some ask why isn’t God more active in the world today? They want to see things like healings happen. They do, but the problem is that we are the rulers of this world, but we’re ineffective. God gave us all the authority, but we sit on our hands. Luke 10:18-19 reads: Jesus said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like lightning. I have given you the authority to trample snakes and scorpions and to destroy the enemy’s power. Nothing will hurt you.

Sadly Satan is working in many Christians’ lives, simply because they don’t know the Word of God. He puts condemnation on them; he deceives them to believe they have no power; he makes them try to earn salvation and reminds them how miserably they fail; he takes their boldness; he makes them value other people’s opinions more than God’s opinion. And He leaves them weak and powerless. Yes, they’re saved because they believe in Christ. But to be brutally honest, they’re pretty much useless for the expansion of the Kingdom of God.

Satan isn’t omniscient, he isn’t all powerful. He’s just a fallen angel. Sometimes Christians live as if the devil is God’s equal, like an evil twin. I’m sorry to tell you, but (fortunately) it’s not a fair fight. The devil is just a fallen angel. God created Lucifer, who then got sour and tried to exalt himself above the King of Kings.

If Satan really was all-knowing, don’t you think he would’ve let Herodes kill Jesus when He was a baby? But he couldn’t find Jesus, because he didn’t know where Christ was! Satan is so limited. Be are exalted far above him.

In the words of Curry Blake: “We are God’s sons, Satan’s master, and people’s servant”.

Its time for us Christians to grow a pair and start living the Bible.

Yes I just said that, and that’s my 2 cents.
